Jordanian Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Al Safadi stressed the importance of a political solution in Palestine, saying that “Jordan’s security depends on Palestine’s.”

Safadi, who has met with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Palestine and Egypt in Cairo yesterday, said, “if the Palestinian people were denied peace, the entirety of the region will suffer for it.”

He said that that peace is a strategic Arabic choice because it achieves stability security for the entire region.

The Jordanian Minister said that the basis for the solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is the establishment of a Palestinian state with the proposed borders of 1967, with Eastern Jerusalem as its capital. He said that any attempt to undermine the Palestinian case will be a threat to the stability of the region.

Safadi stressed that Jordan supports constructive and productive efforts to solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and to guarantee the rights of Palestinians.
