Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates met NATO secretary general Jens Stoltenberg Tuesday in Brussels.

The two officials discussed means of strengthening ties between the Kingdom and the Alliance in technical, political and training fields, as well as support programs provided to the Kingdom, including financial funds.

Secretary General Stoltenberg praised Jordan’s effort in supporting peace and stability in the region, as well as in hosting hundreds of thousands of refugees.

Safadi stressed the importance of harnessing more support for Jordan from the international community to help the Kingdom shoulder the burden of the Syrian refugee crisis.

The Minister reviewed the various difficulties Jordan faces in a variety of sectors, as well as the role Jordan plays in maintaining stability in the region and in combating terrorism and extremism.

Safadi also discussed the various crises that affect the region and their effect on the Jordanian economy.
