The Mutah University community, including both its military and civilian branches, faculty, staff, and students, mourned the loss of their colleague, pilgrim Ahmad Madallah Al-Batoush, who passed away while performing Hajj.

Al-Batoush died during Hajj alongside his brother, Abdul Salam Madallah Thiabat Al-Batoush.

Jordan's Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Khalaileh, announced the formation of a special team to handle the procedures for deaths and missing persons among Jordanian pilgrims, coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and Saudi authorities.

During his visit to the Jordanian journalists' camp in Mina on Tuesday, Khalaileh assured that the general health condition of all Jordanian pilgrims was good.

Khalaileh added, according to Petra News Agency, that the ministry monitors all information regarding pilgrims around the clock, whether they are part of the official Jordanian Hajj delegation or not.

The Operations and Consular Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reported an increase in deaths and missing persons among Jordanian pilgrims, who were not part of the official delegation, due to severe heatstroke.

Ambassador Sufian Qudah, Director of Operations and Consular Affairs, stated that since the crisis began, a crisis cell had been activated within the ministry. Coordination with the Jordanian consulate in Jeddah, the embassy in Riyadh, and the Jordanian Awqaf Hajj mission has been ongoing to oversee the burial procedures of deceased Jordanian pilgrims and facilitate the swift repatriation of those whose families wish to bring their bodies back to Jordan, as well as to continue the search for missing pilgrims.
