The US Embassy in Amman has advised its citizens to stay informed about the closure and reopening of airspace in Jordan by following local media outlets such as Roya News.

This advisory followed the decision by Jordan's Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) to temporarily shut down the country's airspace to all incoming, departing, and transiting flights starting from 20:00 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), which is 11:00 PM local time and it was extend the airspace closure until 8 AM Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) - 11 AM local time.

The closure aims to safeguard the safety and security of civil aviation within Jordanian airspace, given the escalating regional tensions and after assessing associated risks in accordance with international civil aviation safety standards.

The US Embassy reiterated the importance of exercising caution and staying updated on urgent developments through local media channels. It assured that it will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further information as necessary.

Additionally, the embassy urged individuals to contact the police via 911 in case of emergencies.
