Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Army, condemned the assault on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, labeling it as an outrageous act.

Bagheri squarely pointed fingers at the United States of America, asserting its complicity in the attack and holding it primarily responsible.

Previously, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi pledged a fitting retaliation for the assault, emphasizing that the Zionist regime must understand that such a cowardly act will not go unanswered.

While the Israeli Occupation refrained from commenting on the incident, it instructed Israeli Occupation embassies worldwide to bolster their security measures following the attack on the Iranian consulate.

The assault, which occurred on Monday, involved an Israeli Occupation strike targeting the Iranian consulate building in Damascus with six missiles. The New York Times cited four unnamed Israeli Occupation officials confirming Israeli Occupation's responsibility for the attack.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard disclosed that the attack resulted in the deaths of two generals: Mohammad Reza Zahedi, the guard's commander in Syria and Lebanon, and his deputy, Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, along with five other accompanying officers.
