An explosion caused by a gas leak in the petroleum area of Rades, located south of Tunis, led to burns for 38 workers in Tunisia today.

Brigadier General Moez Tariaa, spokesperson for the Civil Defense, said that the incident occurred during a gas filling operation at a distribution and filling center owned by a petroleum company in the Brades Petroleum Zone.

This resulted in the explosion of several gas cylinders.

Among the injured, 17 workers suffered burns of varying degrees, ranging from first to second degree.

They were promptly transferred to hospitals for medical attention.

Tariaa confirmed the deployment of 12 fire trucks, eight civil protection ambulances, and five health ambulances to manage the situation, extinguish the fire, and evacuate the wounded.
