Israeli Occupation Foreign Affairs Minister, Israel Katz, stated that the Director of United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) should resign and the agency will not remain in Gaza after today, as reported by the Hebrew broadcasting authority.

Katz further proposed that Tel Aviv would take measures to ban UNRWA from functioning in the Gaza Strip post-war, stating that the agency would not be part of the reconstruction efforts.

These statements followed allegations implicating 12 UNRWA employees in the October 7, 2023 attack.

- UNRWA crisis -

UNRWA has recently disclosed a significant decrease in the amount of aid reaching the besieged Gaza Strip.

This decline comes amidst a severe financial crisis for the agency, triggered by the suspension of aid from Western nations, primarily the United States. This suspension follows allegations against some of UNRWA's employees in Operation Aqsa Typhoon.

The agency stated that the amount of aid entering Gaza this month has been halved compared to the previous month. It highlighted that "very little aid has entered this month."

Furthermore, UNRWA noted that the number of trucks entering Gaza falls well below the specified target of 500 trucks per day. This situation exacerbates the significant challenges in delivering essential supplies to the strip.
