President Joe Biden said Thursday that a temporary ceasefire in Gaza may not happen on Monday.

Despite this skepticism, he remained optimistic, invoking the phrase "hope springs eternal" to highlight ongoing discussions with regional leaders on the matter.

However, he clarified that the ceasefire was unlikely to materialize by Monday, stating, "Probably not by Monday."

Additionally, Biden noted that the recent Al-Rasheed Street Massacre in Gaza would further complicate negotiations concerning the captives.
