Israeli Occupation Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, stated on Monday that Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is a “persona non grata” until he retracts his remarks equating "Israel's" actions in Gaza with the Holocaust in World War II.

"The comparison between Israel's just war against Hamas, and the atrocities of Hitler and the Nazis, is a shame and disgrace and a serious antisemitic attack," Katz told Brazil's Ambassador to the Israeli Occupation Federico Mayer.

The Ambassador was called in response to Lula's comments, which the Israeli Occupation denounced as downplaying the Holocaust and offending Jewish people.

“It is a serious antisemitic attack. In my name and the name of the citizens of Israel – tell President Lula that he is persona non grata in Israel until he takes it back,” Katz said.

Brazilian President Lula drew a comparison between the Israeli Occupation's activities in the Gaza Strip and the Holocaust of World War II earlier on Sunday.

"What's happening in the Gaza Strip isn't a war, it's a genocide," Lula told reporters in Addis Ababa where he was attending the 37th African Union summit in Ethiopia.

"It's not a war of soldiers against soldiers. It's a war between a highly prepared army and women and children," he added.

"What's happening in the Gaza Strip with the Palestinian people hasn't happened at any other moment in history. Actually, it has happened: when Hitler decided to kill the Jews."
