The United States and Britain jointly announced on Tuesday that their forces conducted new strikes against the Houthis in Yemen.

Washington and London stated in a joint statement, "eight Houthi targets in Yemen in response to the Houthis' continued attacks against international and commercial shipping as well as naval vessels transiting the Red Sea."

"These precision strikes are intended to disrupt and degrade the capabilities that the Houthis use to threaten global trade and the lives of innocent mariners," the statement read.

Earlier, the Houthis issued a statement regarding the latest developments concerning the operations they are carrying out against the Israeli Occupation, its allies, and those cooperating with it, in support and defense of the people of Gaza who have been under continuous aggression for 109 days.

The Houthis affirmed that the naval forces of the Yemeni armed forces carried out a military operation targeting the American military cargo ship "Ocean Jazz" in the Gulf of Aden using appropriate naval missiles.

The statement indicated that the Yemeni armed forces emphasize that a response to the American and British aggressions is inevitable, and any new attack will not go without a response and punishment.

The Houthis also confirmed their commitment to preventing "Israeli" ships or those heading to the occupied Palestinian ports until the aggression is halted and the blockade on the Palestinian people in Gaza is lifted.

Notably, upon the initial targeting by the US and UK, the Houthis verified that their focus was solely on vessels affiliated with the Israeli Occupation and no other country.
