Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said that the launch of a ground invasion into Gaza will result in a large number of civilian casualties.

He agreed with French President Emmanuel Macron that the current crisis should not escalate to other regions.

He added that the loss of hope in the two-state solution, expansion of settlements and practices in Al-Aqsa have fueled hatred.

Sisi emphasized, during his meeting with Macron, that more captives will be released and reaffirmed the importance of a two-state solution.
