In a recent statement, the Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed strong condemnation for the devastating attack on the Baptist hospital in Gaza, which resulted in the tragic loss of hundreds of civilian lives.

The Ministry emphasized that medical facilities should never be subjected to targeted attacks, and stressed the imperative of upholding International Humanitarian Law at all times.

The horrifying incident has prompted global outrage, as hospitals are universally regarded as protected spaces under international law.

The deliberate targeting of such vital institutions not only leads to loss of life but also severely hampers the ability to provide critical medical care to those in need.

The Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs echoed the sentiments of many in calling for an immediate de-escalation of the war.

-Cyprus President calls King Abdullah II-

His Majesty King Abdullah II received a call from Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides on Oct. 14 in which he stressed the need for international efforts to stop the war on Gaza.

King Abdullah noted the importance of facilitating the provision of medical and relief aid to the Gaza Strip and protecting innocent civilians, warning against hindering the work of international humanitarian agencies.

His Majesty reaffirmed the need to reach a just solution to the Palestinian issue, on the basis of the two-state solution and the fulfilment of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
