The Libyan Foreign Ministry expressed its strongest condemnation and rejection of the act of burning a copy of the Holy Quran carried out by an individual in front of its embassy in Denmark.

In an official statement issued by the ministry, they held the Danish authorities accountable for allowing such an incident to occur, emphasizing that the appropriate measures were not taken to prevent it.

The ministry, in its statement, drew attention to the significant concern arising from the Danish authorities overlooking instances of hate-driven crimes and incitement targeting the Islamic faith and the sentiments of Muslims.

The statement also firmly underlined the significance of upholding the principles of freedom of expression while discouraging resorting to violent and inflammatory actions as means of conveying opinions.

Furthermore, the ministry reaffirmed Libya's unwavering stance that there exists no justification for such a reprehensible act, as it directly undermines the core values of religion, tolerance, and freedom of belief.
