Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed its heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to the government and people of the friendly Republic of Georgia for the victims of the recent landslide in the Racha region. The incident resulted in multiple casualties, injuries, and people reported missing.

Jordan said that it stands in solidarity with Georgia during this difficult time, offering its condolences to the bereaved families and wishing a swift recovery for the injured. The Georgian authorities reported the recovery of 11 bodies as part of the search and rescue operation, while dozens are still unaccounted for.

Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Garibashvili, described the situation as extremely challenging, and rescue efforts are ongoing to locate the missing individuals. The landslide occurred near a tourist resort in the mountainous Racha district after days of heavy rainfall, causing significant damage to homes, infrastructure, and resort facilities.
