Details have emerged about the case involving a woman who was found fatally stabbed in her home in the Jabal Al-Nuzha area in Amman on Friday night.

A security source told Roya that the authorities were notified that a woman had gone missing and her husband claimed he could not reach her.

Security officers headed to her home and found her stabbed with a sharp tool in the chest and loin area, the source added.

According to experts, the woman had been dead for more than 48 hours and the body was already decomposing when it was discovered.

The Public Prosecutor ordered the transfer of the body to the National Center for Forensic Medicine for an autopsy.

Evidence has been collected from the crime scene and a team from the Criminal Investigation Department has launched an investigation.
