Wagner force Chief Yevgeny Prigozhin said Saturday he ordered his mercenaries to halt their march on Moscow and retreat to their field camps in Ukraine.

Prigozhin mentioned that his army is only 200 kilometers away from Moscow, but he instructed them to turn back to avoid 'shedding Russian blood.'

Whether or not Kremlin has responded to Prigozhin's demand to oust Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu is still not determined.

Kremlin is yet to comment or release a statement.

This statement seemed to 'defuse a growing crisis,' as worded by the Washington Post.

The Russian capital had prepared for the private army to arrive led by Prigozhin.

Earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin vowed he would face harsh consequences.
