Two schoolgirls were injured after a ceiling fan fell in a public school classroom in Aqaba.

One of the students was wounded in the face area and the other suffered from a mild concussion.

Healthcare providers said that both students will leave the hospital in one day.

The head of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Nayef Al-Fayez, accompanied by the Director of Education in Aqaba Governorate Salem Al-Rafou, visited the students at the hospital.

Fayez stressed the importance of ensuring the proper implementation of public safety measures in schools, in order to make sure no similar incidents will occur in the future.

Fayez was briefed by Rafou on the details of the incident, as well as the steps that have been taken and will be taken to make sure all the necessary public safety measures are implemented.
