This week, the Ahel Al Hai team visited the villages of Al Mokhaba Al Fawqa and Al Mokhaba Al Tahta in the northern Jordan Valley, Irbid.

During the team’s regular visits to the two villages, they discovered that the residents, especially the children, suffer loss, discoloration, and accumulation of plaque on their teeth. This comes due to the contamination of water in the two villages.

The hero of the sixth episode of Ahel Al Hai is Mahmoud Abdul Karim Al-Qarala – a photojournalist and the founder of the Masar Al-Khair initiative.

After looking into diseases caused by polluted water in the area, the volunteers found the solution: establishing a desalination plant to serve the two villages.

The team worked on preparing a warehouse in one of the vital areas to cover the needs of all residents. The warehouse was renovated and maintained to start providing a number of neighboring homes and schools with desalinated drinking water.
