Queen Rania says 'world is united in its grief'

Monday, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah shared a post on Twitter following the earthquake that affected Syria and Turkey.

The tweet read, "Today, our world is united in its grief. Our hearts and prayers are with all the victims, the injured, and those who lost their homes or loved ones in today's devastating earthquakes."

Notably, early Monday morning, the first quake struck at 04:17 am local time (0117 GMT) at a depth of about 17.9 kilometers (11 miles), the US Geological Survey said, with a 6.7-magnitude aftershock striking 15 minutes later.

At around 1:30pm Jordan time, another 7.5-magnitude earthquake hit southeastern Turkey, according to AFP.
