Karine Jean-Pierre, White House Press Secretary said Monday, “Americans should feel safe going to the polls.”

She told reporters that “no specific credible threats” were identified by law enforcement ahead of the midterm elections.

“Law enforcement has briefed us that there are no specific credible threats identified at this point. The president has been briefed on the threat, on the threat environment and directed at all appropriate steps be taken to ensure safe and secure voting occurs right in this process. But I want to be clear : Americans should feel safe going to the polls. It is important for Americans to do so. The administration has taken the issue of threats to the safety of voters and election officials seriously from day one,” she added.
