A Syrian man living in Jordan was sentenced to 10 years and eight months in prison for sexually assaulting his two daughters, who were born in 1999 and 2001.

The crime happened in 2010 for the first time, when the father got into bed with his oldest daughter, who was 11 at the time, and committed sexual acts which caused the girl to scream and call out to her mother causing the father to leave.

Two years after that incident, while the accused was in Jordan, he went into the room of the victim, his eldest daughter, put his hand over her mouth to prevent her from screaming, took off her clothes and his clothes completely, and engaged in sexual acts with her again. He did the same thing to his younger daughter as well.

Two days later, when the accused had repeated his crime once again, the mother witnessed what happened.

The Court of Cassation, which is the highest judicial body, ratified the strict sentence issued by the Grand Criminal Court in the case which dates back to 2014 when the lawsuit was filed.
