A civilian airplane is set to leave Queen Alia International Airport on Wednesday evening, but rather than taking off into the sky, it will leave the air cargo area towards Irbid.

The new owner of the fuselage, Ahmed Silawi, wants to convert it into a restaurant in Irbid, making it the first airplane in Jordan to be converted into a restaurant, the fifth in the Arab world, and the ninth worldwide.

It will take 48 hours for the plane to reach Irbid and it will be accompanied by personnel from the Public Security Department, Traffic Department, Ministry of Digital Economy, Ministry of Local Administration, Greater Amman Municipality, Greater Irbid Municipality, Mafraq Municipality, as well as the National Electric Power Company which will work to remove any wires that may be in the way.
