Friday, several countries have officially announced that they have not seen the crescent of the month of Ramadan, and therefore Sunday, April 3, will be the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan.

The countries are Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia and Japan.

However, both Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates have announced that the crescent moon has been sighted and thus, Saturday will be the first day of Ramadan in both countries.
