The International Football Association announced in an official statement that the Polish national team has qualified for the European FIFA World Cup qualification, at the expense of its Russian counterpart.

According to FIFA, the Polish team will face the winner of the match between the Czech and Swedish teams, to determine who qualifies for the World Cup in Qatar.

The capital, Moscow, was scheduled to host the European play-off match qualifying for the World Cup "Qatar 2022" between the Russian and Polish teams on March 24, with the winner playing, at home on March 29, against the winner of the Sweden-Czech match.

The winner of the second match will snatch the opportunity to participate in the World Cup in Qatar.

Earlier, FIFA and UEFA decided, in an unprecedented step, to exclude the Russian teams from their competitions, after the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
