Sunday, the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar approved the administration of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 booster vaccines for children aged between 12 and 15.

“The decision is in line with the recent studies that demonstrate the safety and efficacy of booster doses using the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in this age group,” MoPH said on their website.

Children aged 12 to 15 years who received their second dose of the coronavirus vaccine more than six months ago are eligible for the COVID-19 booster vaccine.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Qatar has confirmed 270,651 cases and 618 deaths.
