Wednesday, Prime Minister, Bisher Al-Khasawneh, received the Syrian Minister of Electricity, Ghassan Al-Zamil, and the Minister of Energy and Water of the Lebanese Republic, Walid Fayyad, in the presence of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Hala Zawati.

The Prime Minister stressed the brotherly relations that link Jordan with Syria and Lebanon, and the keenness to strengthen joint cooperation to serve the interests of the three brotherly countries.

He also affirmed Jordan's readiness, under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to provide the necessary support to Lebanon, which is going through exceptional economic challenges.

The meeting focused on taking steps to speed up the delivery of Egyptian gas and electricity to Lebanon through Jordan and Syria.

The Prime Minister listened to a briefing from the three ministers on the efforts made to expedite the steps to complete the necessary infrastructure inside Syrian territory for the transmission of gas and electricity, in addition to some technical and contractual matters that will be agreed upon.
