Tuesday, a woman murdered her brother for inheritance in Mosul, Iraq. The woman committed the crime with the help of her son and another man.

According to a statement published by the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, the man was stabbed with a sharp object inside his home.

The statement added that the criminals were arrested.

The crime sparked a storm of grief and indignation among the Mosuli community in particular, and on various Iraqi social media platforms.

Social media users expressed shock and disbelief that greed would reach such a point, wherein a woman would kill her own brother, to take possession of what he owns.

Social and educational experts attribute the escalation of such crimes in society to economic and social crises and material tendencies among people, so that obtaining and accumulating money becomes the ultimate goal for many, to the extent that they do not even hesitate to kill and commit crimes, against the closest people to them in pursuit of money.
