The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Nayef Al-Fayez, visited Salt Thursday, on the occasion of adding the city to the World Heritage List. Fayez said that this is a great achievement for Jordan.

During his visit, Fayez said that the ministry is working on preparing a special program to promote the city of Salt through media and various social media platforms globally, and to communicate with international tourism companies so that Salt becomes a part of its promotional programs and within the places visited by tourists from different countries.

He referenced the formation of a team designated to develop an action plan to invest in this achievement by further exhibiting the great potential of this city for the architectural style of its heritage buildings, hospitality and traditions.

Fayez praised everyone who contributed to this achievement, both individuals and institutions.

Tuesday, the World Heritage Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) decided, during its forty-fourth session, held virtually from China, to approve the addition of the city of Salt, "the city of tolerance and civilized hospitality," on the World Heritage List.
