A Dubai-based beauty salon, Lanour Beauty Lounge, is offering to paint nails and give manicures... with microchips.
The chip can store an individual's contact details, social media profiles and any other information.
The salon calls it a "digital calling card."
The CEO of the the salon, Nour Makarem, said this was created in order to facilitate a contactless alternative to physical business cards in light of the pandemic.
"After the pandemic started, I was thinking of how I can support social distancing, how I can encourage the paperless, and I made something different with our beauty services," said Makarem.
People can simply scan the microchipped fingernail with their phones and have instant access to the person's information.
