The Indian Ministry of Health announced Wednesday that the country recorded 42,015 new coronavirus cases and 3,998 deaths in the past 24 hours.

This is the highest single-day death toll from the virus in India since June 12.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, India has confirmed 31,216,337 cases and 418,511 deaths.
