Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas spoke with the Israeli Occupation's Defense Minister Benny Gantz Monday night in a conversation that revolved around 'trust-building.'

The call came as the "first high-level contact made public by the new Israeli [occupation] government," according to Reuters. 

“The discussion was positive and the two cited the need to advance trust-building steps between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, which will benefit the economy and security of the entire region,” read a statement by the Defense Minister's office. 

The office of the Palestinian President did not provide furhter details.
