Tuesday, the Minister of State for Media Affairs Sakher Dudin said that the current COVID-19 situation in the Kingdom requires more caution.

According to him, this comes in order to avoid an epidemiological setback in Jordan, noting at the same time that "our health system is strong and we are ready to deal with the developments of the epidemiological situation."

Dudin noted that Jordan has the ability to vaccinate more than 100,000 people per day, but the challenge is to encourage people to receive the vaccine.

Additionally, Dudin stressed that the government does not want to return to closures once more.

He also indicated that students will return to school on Sept .1, stressing that "there is no turning back on that."

He said all teachers, administrators and school workers will be vaccinated by Sept. 1, noting that 83 percent of teachers and administrators have already received the coronavirus vaccine.

Regarding the vaccination campaign in Jordan, Dudin said that around 572,000 people aged 50 and above have not been vaccinated yet, noting that this age group is most at-risk in terms of COVID-19.

He called on those aged 50 and above to urgently go to vaccination centers to receive the coronavirus vaccine.

As for Jordan's economic situation, Dudin said that the national economy has begun to recover.
