Wednesday, the head of the coronavirus portfolio Adel al-Belbeisi said the Ministry of Health made the decision to vaccinate a 'very limited group' of people under 18 years of age and based on specific conditions.

He told Jordan TV “The policies of the Ministry of Health are based on vaccinating age groups (18) and above, which constitute 55 percent of Jordan’s population and their number reaches approximately 6.5 million people. We are obligated to vaccinate them and our current goal is to vaccinate 4.5 million people by September 1."

He added that some students who are not 18 years old yet but are over 17 years of age can get vaccinated, if they are enrolled in a university abroad and have a pre-paid plane ticket. These students must go to the ministry without registering on the official COVID-19 vaccination platform.
