Sunday, the “National Back to School campaign,” which is a plan towards a safe return to schools, submitted a letter to the Prime Minister, Bisher al-Khasawneh, calling for a clear plan to return to in-person education as soon as possible.

The campaign warned of the negative and significant repercussions which online education has imposed.

The campaign said that all statements issued by the Ministry of Education show that no serious decision has been taken regarding the return of in-person education.

The campaign called on the government to expand the coronavirus vaccination campaign for teachers and those working in the education sector.

Additionally, they stressed the need to create a program that will help students to catch up on their learning from the time spent in virtual learning. The advocated that the program begin in August, before the start of the 2021-2022 school year. 

March 10, the government decided to suspend all in-person education across all schools and universities until further notice.
