Israeli Occupation informs Egypt of intention to stop military operation in Gaza: Arab media

According to AlJazeera Thursday the Israeli Occupation government has officially informed the Egyptian mediator of its intention to stop the military operation in Gaza.

The Hebrew media stated that if Hamas agrees to a ceasefire, they will follow suit. But, if there are refusals to end the strikes, then they will continue with the operation as needed in response to any rocket fire from Gaza, as seen appropriate.

Earlier Thursday, the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged the Israeli Occupation and the Palestinians to call an immediate ceasefire and pledged to launch a full humanitarian appeal for funding.

“The past ten days have witnessed a dangerous and horrific surge in deadly violence in the occupied Palestinian territory, particularly Gaza, and in Israeli [Occupation,” Guterres said at a UN General Assembly meeting.

The high-level security cabinet will vote in favor of a unilateral ceasefire that will go into effect some time in the next 24 hours

According to the Hebrew Kan Channel, the Israeli Occupation will vote on a unilateral ceasefire that will go into effect within the next 24 hours.

In turn, Hamas leader Sami Abu Zuhri said that any Israeli Occupation declaration of a unilateral ceasefire represents a declaration of defeat for them, and we are concerned with the success of all initiatives to reach the ceasefire.
