The Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed Tuesday that it had warned American naval forces after its "irresponsible" behavior, after the US Defense Department announced that warning fire was fired at Iranian boats in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement published on its website, the Guard said that it encountered seven US naval vessels on Monday in the strategic strait, and warned them “while maintaining the legal distance (...) against dangerous and irresponsible behavior."
