Saturday, the Vice President of the Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) Ahmad Khudari met with Angola's non-resident ambassador Nelson Cosme to discuss ways to establish a strong economic relationship between the two countries.

They agreed that the absence of a direct air or sea line between both countries and a permanent Angolan embassy in Amman are the two main challenges facing this bilateral economic cooperation. They also agreed to conduct an in-depth study to strengthen the ties between the two countries and prepare for reciprocal trade delegations in the third quarter of 2021.

Khudari told the Angolan ambassador that trade agreements with African countries, especially the Organization of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), curtail trade exchange between Jordan and non-Arab African countries due to high customs duties and transportation difficulties.

In turn, Ambassador Cosme pledged that Angola will work on overcoming any challenges that might face Jordanian manufacturers and investors that wish to enter into partnerships with their Angolan counterparts. He also suggested organizing a visit for a Jordanian economic delegation to Angola.
