Jordan records 29 deaths and 601 new coronavirus cases

Jordan recorded 29 deaths and 601 new COVID-19 cases Saturday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 719,233.

The death toll has risen to 9,076.

The cases are:

- 279 in Amman

- 151 in Irbid, including 23 in Ramtha

- 47 in Mafraq

- 35 in Zarqa

- 22 in Balqa

- 17 in Aqaba

- 15 in Karak

- 13 in Jerash

- 13 in Ajloun

- eight in Madaba

- One in Ma'an

A total of 111 cases have been admitted to the hospitals, and 115 have been discharged upon recovery.

There are a total of 8,966 active COVID-19 cases.

A total of 1,731 recoveries have been recorded from hospitals and home quarantine, bringing the total amount of recoveries since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 701,191.

There are 989 patients receiving treatment in hospitals.

A total of 10,098 PCR tests were conducted, bringing the total to 6,824,502.

Saturday, 5.95 percent of PCR tests came back positive, in comparison to 4.31 percent on Friday.
