Jordan records 33 deaths and 1,220 new coronavirus cases

Jordan recorded 33 deaths and 1,220 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 716,923.

The death toll has risen to 8,988.

The cases are:

-348 in Amman

-304 in Irbid, including 52 in Ramtha

-108 in Zarqa

-84 in Balqa

-79 in Mafraq

-62 in Ma'an, including 23 in Petra

-59 in Karak

-43 in Tafilah

-40 in Jerash

-39 in Ajloun

-27 in Aqaba

-27 in Madaba

A total of 120 cases have been admitted to the hospitals, and 140 have been discharged upon recovery.

There are a total of 11,411 active COVID-19 cases.

A total of 2,097 recoveries have been recorded from hospitals and home quarantine, bringing the total amount of recoveries since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 696,524.

There are 1,147 patients receiving treatment in hospitals.

A total of 17,877 PCR tests were conducted, bringing the total to 6,781,275.

Wednesday, 6.82 percent of PCR tests came back positive, in comparison to 7.78 percent on Tuesday.
