Tuesday, Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh announced the formation of a ministerial committee that aims to develop the public sector.

The committee will work on adopting policies, programs and projects that contribute to improving the public sector. Members will also review the relevant legislation and approving the outputs of the Supreme Committee responsible for restructuring the government.

In response to senator Haifa al-Najjar's question, he said the Institutional Performance Development Department was established after the abolition of the Ministry of Public Sector Development. This aims to improve the performance of the government, evaluate and improve government services, and strengthen the role of institutional development units in different governmental departments.

Khasawneh explained that creating a comprehensive plan for government services includes identifying priorities, developing a national registry for services, establishing comprehensive centers for government services, automating services and evaluation service provision through an online platform and unannounced field visits to service delivery centers.
