Palestine confirms 26 deaths and 1,502 new coronavirus cases

Palestine recorded 26 deaths and 1,502 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Saturday.

The new deaths involved 16 in the West Bank and 10 in Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 88.1 percent, while the active case rate is 10.8 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 28 in Qalqilya; 103 in Jenin; 54 in Tulkarm; 15 in Tubas; 21 in Hebron; 111 in Nablus; 10 in Salfit; seven in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 67 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 16 in Bethlehem; six in the suburbs of Jerusalem; and 1,064 in Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included 183 in Jenin; 81 in Tulkarm; 53 in Tubas; 222 in Hebron; 103 in Nablus; 21 in Salfit; three in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 79 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 40 in Bethlehem; 27 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; and 600 in Gaza Strip.

Currently, 190 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 59 are on ventilators.

A total of 5,007 PCR tests were conducted.
