Sunday, a plane carrying a shipment of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine arrived at Queen Alia International Airport.

According to the announcement on the Chinese Embassy's facebook page, "The #Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Chen Chuandong said in a statement that since the outbreak of the pandemic, China and Jordan have helped each other in fighting the pandemic, reflecting profound friendship between the two peoples. The Chinese Government, in honouring its commitment to making vaccines as a global public good, has rendered assistance to Jordan in purchasing Chinese vaccines, overcoming challenges of huge domestic and foreign demand and production capacity. This testifies to the value of China-Jordan strategic partnership and China’s action in supporting the kingdom’s efforts to fight the pandemic. We are very pleased to know that the safety and effectiveness of Chinese vaccines are well recognized by the Jordanian people. China will continue its cooperation with Jordan to overcome the pandemic at an early date."
