The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said Sunday that one of the employees in the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Department suspected a COVID-19 infection in a customer who came to the building to complete a transaction.

The suspected case was immediately isolated, and after the authorities ran checks on his name, it was confirmed that he was infected with COVID-19 and was aware of his illness.

The authorities stated he intentionally risked the health and safety of others.

The media spokesman confirmed that he was dealt with and transferred to quarantine inside Prince Hamzah Hospital, as per the rules set by the Ministry of Health. Upon recovery, he will be referred to the judiciary.

The PSD called on everyone to report any person infected with the coronavirus who does not adhere to home quarantine and exposes society to danger. They asked individuals to contact 911 in the event of such an incident so that the necessary legal measures are taken.
