Tuesday, during a follow-up tour of health facilities, the governor of Ma'an, Muhammad Al-Fayez, said that the occupancy rates of coronavirus patients in Ma'an health facilities are "normal," and that the COVID-19 situation in the governorate remains "comfortable and reassuring."

Fayez confirmed during his tour, which included most notably the Ma'an Governmental Hospital, Queen Rania Hospital in Petra, and the Ma'an field hospital, that the facilities are ready and are operating in the most optimum manner.

"There is no pressure on bed occupancy rates for coronavirus patients."

He explained that the authorities are following up on the implementation of defense orders in a manner that ensures the provision of a healthy and safe environment for citizens.

He added that 13 supervisory authorities in the governorate participate in the monitoring process and issue fines and warnings to violators.

Fayez called on citizens to register on the vaccination platforms to receive the vaccine against the coronavirus, stressing the need to stay away from gatherings, avoiding crowded markets, adhere to social distancing, and all other safety measures in order to limit the spread of COVID-19 as much as possible.
