Hayajneh explains to Roya why vaccination centers have ceased operations

Sunday, the head of the coronavirus portfolio at the Ministry of Health, Wael Hayajneh told Roya that the ministry is currently working on opening several vaccination centers across Jordan, the first of which is Al-Hussein Sports City in Amman, followed by Al-Hassan Sports City in Irbid. The ministry is also willing to open other vaccination centers in Zarqa, Al-Balqa and Amman.

This came during Hayajneh's response to Roya regarding stopping vaccinating people against the coronavirus in some centers across the Kingdom.

Hayajneh said centers have not stopped working permanently, but that some obstacles may occur due the number of these centers, indicating that any center that has temporarily ceased operations will likely return to work within the coming days.

He told Roya that a number of vaccines are expected to arrive in Jordan Sunday. In addition, the Kingdom will receive more vaccines in the coming weeks and months.

He added that Jordan is aiming to vaccinate 30 percent of citizens and residents of the Kingdom.

Jan. 13, Jordan began its national vaccination campaign against the coronavirus, using the Pfizer-BioNTech and Sinopharm vaccines.
