Palestine confirms eight deaths and 665 new coronavirus cases

Palestine recorded eight deaths and 665 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Friday.

The new deaths involved seven in the West Bank and one in Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 93.5 percent, while the active case rate is 5.4 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 37 in Qalqilya; 80 in Salfit; 94 in Bethlehem; 33 in Tulkarm; 73 in Hebron; 135 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 59 in Nablus; seven in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 25 in Jenin; one in the suburbs of Jerusalem; three in Tubas; and 117 in Gaza Strip.

The recovery cases included eight in Qalqilya; 11 in Salfit; 31 in Bethlehem; 24 in Tulkarm; 50 in Hebron; 103 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 28 in Nablus; two in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 14 in Jenin; zero in the suburbs of Jerusalem; nine in Tubas; amd 355 in Gaza Strip.

Currently, 56 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 19 are on ventilators.

A total of 5,238 PCR tests were conducted.
