Friday, the Kuwait Ministry of Health has approved the AstraZeneca-Oxford COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use. The first batch of the vaccine is expected to arrive within days, according to the Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA).

AstraZeneca-Oxford is the third COVID-19 vaccine to be approved in Kuwait, after Pfizer-BioNTech and COVAX vaccines.

On Dec. 24, Kuwait began a nationwide coronavirus vaccination campaign.
