The Civil Status and Passports Department (CSPD) has issued 11,228 passports for Jerusalemites through the Sharia Court in Jerusalem, since the launch of the service in August 2019.

The Director General of the Department, Fahd Al-Amoush, said in a statement to the Petra News Agency Monday, that this measure came to enable Jerusalemites to easily renew their passports, to enhance their steadfastness and stability on their land, and to protect the Arab identity of the Holy City of Jerusalem.

He indicated that the Sharia Court in Jerusalem receives passport applications for Jerusalemites, accompanied by all the required documents, according to the legal procedures, in coordination with the Supreme Judge Department and the Jordan Post Company.
