Palestine records 27 deaths and 822 new COVID-19 cases

Palestine recorded 27 deaths and 822 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila Friday.

The new deaths involved 12 in the West Bank (two in Hebron; one in Salfit; one in Nablus; two in Qalqilya and six in Jenin); five in Jerusalem City and 10 in the Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 91.3 percent, while the active case rate is 7.6 percent and the death rate is 1.1 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 16 in Salfit; 15 in the suburbs of Jerusalem; 55 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 26 in Tulkarem; nine in Qalqilya; 33 in Nablus; 19 in Jenin; 35 in Hebron; 18 in Bethlehem; five in Tubas; three in Jericho and Aghwar; 403 in Gaza Strip; 185 in Jerusalem City.

The recovery cases included 22 in Salfit; 97 in suburbs of Jerusalem; 162 in Ramallah and al-Bireh; 76 in Tulkarem; 14 in Qalqilya; 174 in Nablus; 41 in Jenin; 54 in Hebron; 49 in Tubas; 12 in Jericho and Aghwar; 700 in Gaza Strip and 245 in Jerusalem City.

Currently, 87 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 20 are on ventilators.

A total of 4,184 PCR tests were conducted.
