A total of 28 underprivileged families in Ajloun and Irbid Saturday received new homes as part of a royal initiative offering housing to poor families across the Kingdom.

The initiative was launched in 2005 upon a directive by His Majesty King Abdullah II to improve the quality of life of families in need. Families are selected based on fair and transparent criteria by the Ministry of Social Development.

Despite the exceptional circumstances Jordan and the world are going through due to the coronavirus crisis, the fully-equipped housing units continue to be periodically handed over to beneficiaries across the Kingdom.

The Royal Court Chief and head of the committee to follow up on Implementation Yousef Issawi, along with the Public Works and Housing Minister Yahya al-Kasabi and Social Development Minister Ayman Mufleh toured the new military housing project in Ajloun.

Issawi said His Majesty cares about improving the quality of life of citizens and making sure their needs are met, especially families that suffer in light of the current difficult circumstances.
